A sweet little cabin or bunkie
House plan: Poplar Bunkie, 639ft.², 1 bed / 1 bath + loft
The Poplar Bunkie is a brand new design created for our own families (and which we also rent out on Airbnb). It’s paired with the much larger Poplar Cabin. On its own, it’s a sweet little cabin or a more sizeable option for a bunkie.
This classic round log cabin features “just enough” living space: combine living/dining area with a tidy little kitchen tucked around the corner, as well as a comfortable bedroom and bathroom.
An additional loft area can be used for additional sleeping space or an “away” space (we’ve used it for an exercise area at our Calabogie location).
The walk-out deck was crafted with integrated round log benches, a great touch.
The cabin was built using local white pine and white cedar and was constructed with exceptional energy efficiency in mind. Heating and cooling is provided by modern air source based heat pumps (these use very little energy).
